It's a neat concept, and probably could be done, but one of the platforms would have to change radically if it is to be anything but an extremely dirty hack. I ask, because at least in the previous ones, even an A-10 would typically attack from outside the maps. There are A-10s, KA50s, KA52, SU25, F35B and alot of other aircraft in Arma.Īircraft spotting is no different to real life in Arma You notice they dont ask hey merge DCS with some other FPS games only Arma since it is the only FPS worthy of being considered. Aircraft spotting is no different to real life in Arma you still have sound effects and radar is modelled but not at DCS level yet. The only problem is that they are not DCS level aircraft. Two separate titles, and i would like ARMA to stay a game and DCS to stay a simulation.Īrma2 has the Tungaska and Arma is a simulation(since OFP) no different to DCS World in fact that is why people often ask why not merge the 2 sims.(especially if Arma has ACEmod) They already have fighters flying around in Arma2 using Hotas/Trakir etc. Or are there EWR and Tunguska's etc simulated in ARMA these days? Not to mention the fighters, and all that without them ever being able to spot, or even detect what's hitting them. No thank's Just imagine all the wining from infantry and tank drivers when they get slaughtered by SU-25's SU-25T's KA-50's A-10A's and A-10C's.
